{"product_id":"webley-bentley-type-percussion-cap-pocket-revolver","title":"Webley\/Bentley Type Percussion Cap Pocket Revolver","description":"\u003ch3\u003eMid 19th Century English 0.38\" Calibre 5 Shot Percussion Cap Pocket Revolver\u003c\/h3\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAn unsigned Birmingham made large calibre pocket revolver.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe steelwork has a lovely tactile feel to it and is in pretty good condition with a pleasant dark patina across all parts.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe exception to this smooth finish is on the barrel and loading lever which appear to have a couple of areas \"nibbled\" by corrosion.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe double line engraved border is clearly visible but the foliate engraving to the body is quite worn.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe barrel is stamped with a 6 and Birmingham Proof Marks as is the cylinder between each chamber.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe loading lever sits tightly against the barrel and operates smoothly, but the rammer doesn't seem to enter the cylinder much.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe mainspring is strong and the double action only mechanism, feels like it should be fine, \u003cspan style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"\u003eBUT\u003c\/span\u003e  there is a fault, something seems to be jamming the hammer and action from firing (please see the video).  It is frustrating as aside from this it is a nice pistol.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe two piece wooden grip is finely hatched and in good condition with no splits or cracks.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA worn, but very tactile revolver.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eBarrel length 11cm, Overall length 25cm.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThis antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable ornamental item.
