19th Century Crowned GR 1839 Pattern Percussion Coastguard Pistol

Featuring the older flintlock Crown GR lockplate, flat necked hammer and a calibre of 0.677.  I have identified this pistol as the more scarce early percussion 1839 model for the Coastguard.

Although stained, the metalwork is in good condition and has a clear set of military proof marks , Tower stamp and sliding safety catch.

The Crown above the GR is mostly worn away and the brass furniture is a little stained, but the woodwork is in good condition and on the right shoulder there is the faint BO (Board of Ordnance) stamp.

The mainspring is good and the action is crisp in both half and full position.

A cracking service pistol.

Barrel length 15cm, overall length 29cm.

This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license
