Mid 19th Century English 6 Shot Pepperbox Revolver
With beautiful walnut grips with silver (white metal) diamond shaped fixing surrounds.
The metalwork is pitted and polished and is florally engraved. There are Birmingham Proof Marks between each barrel in the cluster.
There are signs of a name within a cartouche on the left side of the body, but it is now illegible.
The mainspring is good and the action raises the hammer, but catches somewhere and it doesn't cycle. There is also some play in the cylinder. All the nipples are original.
Although pitted this is an handsome piece.
Barrel 6.5cm, overall 19cm.
