Late 19th Century Belgian Pinfire Pocket Revolver In Its Velvet Lined "Pipe" Case

A closed frame short barrel 7mm pinfire pocket revolver with a two piece wood birds beak grip contained in a leather covered wooden pipe case complete with its purple velvet and silk lining.

The pistol itself retains a small amount of its original bluing, but overall has a dark, patchy browned patina.  The left side of the barrel is stamped with the Liege Proof Mark that was in use between 1846 and 1893 and a Crowned T Inspection Stamp.

On the right side of the barrel is the stamp of the maker, a pairing of two Gunmakers Dresse-Laloux located at 3 Rue des Urbanistes, Liege.

They were registered at the Liege Proof House from 1867-1908 and the lettered Bee was their trademark.  There is also a Crowned T Inspection Stamp on the cylinder.

The hole on the right side of the frame is where the loading gate spring should be located.....it is missing which means that the loading gate falls open freely.

The mainspring feels weak and somehow a little "sticky" if that makes sense? Maybe old grease?

It is single and double action and although everything operates as it should in single action with the cylinder cycling correctly, in double action the hammer operates correctly but the cylinder doesn't rotate.

Nevertheless it is a handsome piece by a known Liege Gunmaker in its case.

Barrel length 6.5cm, Overall length 15cm.

This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable, ornamental item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license
