An early 19th Century Miquelet Lock Balkans Holster Pistol
With heavily pierced and engraved copper sheet over the whole of the body (the under side of the grip is left uncovered), and a brass tipped steel ramrod.
Octagonal to round steel barrel with several engraved brass securing bands.
The brass, although worn, has a lovely patina and hasn't been polished, one of the brass panels is missing and another pierced section has a bit missing through wear.
The lock plate is engraved and has a circular cartouche stamped on it.
The action is crisp, locking into half and full position nicely. Upon releasing the action, it sometimes catches (possibly as a result of the damaged trigger), making it difficult to pull fully.
There is a small copper repair to the rear of the lock, which I would love to remove, but must be there for a reason.
A highly decorative original piece.
