19th Century Closed Frame 0.30" Calibre Pinfire Pocket Revolver
A compact and very pleasantly shaped pinfire revolver with a very sturdy closed frame design.
The steelwork is in nice condition with a very dark patina. I think the cylinder retains some of its original bluing, but it is difficult to tell given its overall colouration.
The frame carries the Liege Proof Mark and London visual Proof Mark, which is also stamped on the cylinder.
The loading gate spring is good and the trigger folds smoothly.
It is single and double action, but the trigger return spring is faulty (please see the video).
The two piece wooden grip is birds beak in design and is in great condition.
A final note on this one is it its calibre, very unusual as my callipers read it as 7.55mm, which equates to 0.297" (effectively 0.30"), making this piece chambered for the English Imperial Calibre, rather than the more usual metric for European Firearms.
Happy to be put straight on this point, but I find that quite unusual.
A handsome little pistol.
Barrel 6.5cm, Overall length 15cm.
This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable ornamental item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license
