Mid 19th Century English Bentley Type Revolver
With foliate engraving to either side of the frame, hammer, cylinder, trigger guard and buttcap.
All metal parts have areas of pitting and have (I think) blued refinishing, which has actually left the piece with a pleasant patina.
The action is crisp and the cylinder revolves correctly (I hate dry firing these pieces, but as it is a double action only I have, as always , gritted my teeth to show this in the video).
Unlike the Webley Bentley's this one has the underlever loading rod, as opposed to the side lever of the Webley's.
The two piece wooden grip is in good condition.
There are Birmingham proof marks stamped around the cylinder.
A nicely engraved revolver.
