Late 19th Century 0.41" Rimfire 2nd Model Colt Derringer
This very characteristic single shot Colt Derringer was produced between about 1870 and 1890. With matching serial numbers of 5332, this one is mid production run and probably dates to the late 1870's to early 1880's.
In a bright finish with a two piece walnut grip, it features the production floral engraved frame and serial numbers to the frame and barrel.
It also carries very small London Proof Marks and the address on the top flat of the barrel "Colts PT.FA.MFG Co Hartford CT USA No2".
The mainspring is strong and the action is crisp in half and full position.
The walnut grip has a few bruises, but is free of any splits or cracks.
A handsome piece of Colt history.
