19th Century Percussion Cap Continental Double Barreled Pistol
With a heavily fluted grip in the continental fashion that is surprisingly narrow at the shoulder and this actually makes it very pleasing to hold.
The metalwork is all of steel and apart from the barrels and barrel wedge surrounds, is engraved.
The mainsprings are strong and both actions are good in both half and full positions.
All engravings are clear and the metalwork is in good condition.
The barrel wedge is a replacement and it is missing its ramrod.
The woodwork is also generally in good shape, but there is a small crack just before the ramrod pipe and some damage down the right hand forestock.
When this pistol came to me, it was mentioned that this was an Italian pistol, but apart from its styling, I can find nothing to confirm this.
Despite this, it is a handsome pistol, in good condition
