19th Century Percussion Cap Officers Pistol with Lion Rampart Stamp
With a sighted 8" octagonal barrel, swivel ramrod, lanyard ring and regulation brass furniture.
The Lion Rampart holding the Crown was the regulation stamp for the East India Company up until 1852, making this pistol from before this date.
The spring is strong, but only pulls to half position where it snaps securely into place, also the barrel pin is a replacement.
The barrel has some pitting and there is a partially filled small hole drilled at the breech.
The woodwork is beautiful and the finish is almost french polished, making this a lovely tactile piece.
A really great looking military piece.
Overall length 35cm, barrel length 20cm.
This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license.
