19th Century English Boxlock Overcoat Pistol By Tull
With a finely cross hatched one piece grip and silver (white metal) escutcheon at the shoulder. Fine foliate engraving across the action, hammer and trigger guard.
The octagonal barrel has a swivel ramrod attached and carries the name Tull clearly engraved on the top flat.
The metalwork has much of its browning remaining and has some staining.
The mainspring is perhaps a little weak and the action is a bit "hit and miss", so something it not quite right.
I can find no information on a Gunmaker named Tull, so it is possible that this is the retailers name.......or I'm not looking hard enough!
It is however, a handsome piece with only little damage to the metal or woodwork.
Barrel length 10.5cm, overall length 23.5cm
