Late 18th Century Well Proportioned Full Stocked Flintlock Pistol Signed By White of London
Full stocked in walnut with brass trigger guard, side plate and ramrod pipes.
The steelwork has a pleasant salt and pepper pitted finish that has smoothed edges making the whole piece rather tactile.
The stepped lock is undecorated except for a lined border and the faint makers name of "White".
The heavy octagonal barrel has fore and rear sights, private London Proof Marks and engraving along the top flat "London".
Its horn tipped wooden ramrod is present and like the rest of the pistol has a smooth tactile feel to it.
Pulling back on the elegant swan necked cock, the action is smooth in both half and full position and the mainspring is good.
The fine walnut stock is bruised in a few places and there is a fine crack at the muzzle.
The brass trigger guard is engraved and has a warm patina, but has a couple of cracks running across it.
A really lovely genuine piece.
Barrel length 23cm, Overall length 36.5cm.
This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable ornamental item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license
