Early 19th Century Flintlock Pocket Pistol By I Mace
With a slab sided walnut grip and clear Birmingham Proof Marks to the body and barrel.
Signed within oval cartouches surrounded by Stands of Arms, I mace on one side and Reading on the other.
The action is good in half and full position, BUT because it is missing its sear spring the trigger won't hold the action in place by itself (please see the video for a clear view of this).
The bright steel metalwork has some pitting and staining and the main screws holding the grip to the frame is damaged.
John Mace is recorded as a Gunmaker in Reading from 1823-1843.
A pleasant little flintlock.
Barrel length 4cm, overall length 15.5cm.
This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license.
