19th Century Blunderbuss with gold damascene decoration and silver mounts.

A beautifully crafted small knee Blunderbuss with brass patchbox in the butt, roller frizen, silver (white metal) side plate screw mounts and forecap.

Extensively chiseled steel mounts, such as the trigger guard, butt cap, frizen steel and lock.

Much of the gold damascene remaining is on the barrel, with traces of it on most of the steel mounts.

Main spring is strong and action is smooth at both half and full position.

Very unusual to see a Blunderbuss of this type with a small swivel ramrod (this one appears to have broken at some point, as it is very short).

This piece looks like a proper sleeper and apart from a slight wipe over, I have left it that way.  The woodwork should clean up nicely.

An unusual and beautiful piece (the pictures do not do it justice!), that I have struggled to place.

If it was plainer, I would almost expect to see the Rampant Lion on the East India Company on the lock due to the patchbox and swivel ramrod.

Barrel length 23.5cm, overall length 45.5cm.

This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license.
