Early 19th Century .75 Calibre Flintlock Pistol by Joseph Simmons
This pistol features a round sighted damascus barrel marked faintly with Simmons at the breech, rainproof pan, roller frizen and a sliding safety catch.
Action is crisp in both positions and the mainspring is strong.
Gold coloured touch hole surround and a sunburst engraved lock signed Simmons. Steel furniture throughout, with an original horn tipped ramrod, that has a worm fitted at one end.
Silver (white metal) shield shaped escutcheon fitted just above the fine and crisp cross hatching on the grip.
A beautiful piece with a monstrous calibre!
