Late 18th Century - Early 19th Century Pair of Boxlock Pocket Pistols Finished in Bright Steel
An absolutely beautiful pair of cannon barrel boxlock flintlock pistols with hunting animals engraved on the locks (hare and deer on one pistol and hare and fox on the other).
With top sliding safeties that engage with the frizen and rainproof pans.
The finely cross hatched one piece grips have silver wire inlay down the spine and are in great condition.
Both actions operate correctly in full and half positions and the safeties work well. The mainsprings are strong and the drop down triggers function properly. Both barrels unscrew and the lock is stamped at the breech with the Liege Proof Marks.
A stunning pair of pistols in great condition with their bright steel finish. The pictures really do not do them justice.
