Pair of Flintlock Travelling Pistols by John Hosey
Pair of Flintlock Travelling Pistols by John Hosey
Stunning pair of early 18th Century Flintlock Pistols by John Hosey
Full stocked in Walnut with brass furniture signed Iohn Hosey on the sidelocks and barrels, which also have clear London Proof Marks.
Both actions work, one in half and full position and one in half position only. This one is not as crisp and feels softer than the other.
Ramrods are almost certainly replacements and one pistol has an old repaired crack through the butt.
John Hosey was apprentice to John Price in 1678 and was made free of the Gunmakers Company 9 years later. He was elected as a Master in 1719 and passed away in 1727.
An absolutely beautiful pair of pistols in great condition, especially considering that they have been around for a good 300 years, possibly longer.
Barrel length 10cm, overall length 21cm.
This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license.
