Beautiful Pair of 19th Century Inlaid Percussion Cap Target Pistols

A pair of half stocked percussion cap target pistols that I would say definitely are continental in style.

Profusely inlaid with silver (white metal) wire foliate design with leaves and flowers across the whole of the stock.

The buttcap, trigger guard, ramrod pipe and barrel wedge surrounds are also silver (white metal).

The buttcaps have a hinged compartment for holding percussion caps.

The graceful hammers and back actions are also foliate engraved.

The mainsprings are strong and the actions are crisp in both half and full positions.

There is an old repair and split to the walnut stock.  On one there is a crack just above and forward of the barrel wedge, and on the other an old crack (repaired) across the grip.

As can be expected with this amount of silver works, there is some inlay that is missing and an area where it has been repaired.

The trigger guard on one pistol has one section of silver missing and finally both ramrods are missing.

Despite the above faults, this is a magnificent looking pair of pistols.

Barrel lengths 20.5cm, overall lengths 33.5cm.

This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license,
