Early 19th Century Flintlock Boxlock Pocket Pistols by W Ketland & Co, London

Signed within oval cartouches W Ketland & Co on one side and London on the other, surrounded by Stand of Arms decoration.

The metalwork on both pistols is in good condition and has been darkened to a gun metal grey finish.

There are clear Birmingham proof marks and makers marks.

As expected from a maker of quality, both actions are crisp and cleanly hold in both half and full positions.

The triggers drop down as they should and the top sliding safety catches engage fully.

The woodwork is in good condition with only minor bruising.

The barrels currently don't unscrew as I have not tried to force them.

William Ketland was Thomas Ketlands eldest son and partnered up in the family gun making business until 1801.  William passed away in 1804, but the legacy of Ketland & Co. Flintlock Pistols and fowling pieces is that they are noted for their fine quality.

Barrel length 4.5cm. overall length 16cm.

This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license.
