19th Century Percussion Cap Boxlock Pocket Pistol by Lyon & Calisher.
An engraved boxlock pocket pistol with safety catch.
The wooden grip is in fine condition with a white metal (silver) eschutcheon.
The metalwork has some light surface corrosion, but retains nearly all of its original colouring, and the left side is engraved "Lyon & Calisher".
The action is crisp and holds well at full and half position.
Being such an unusual name, I have tried to do a little research on "Lyon & Calisher", these two gentleman went into business together, but as can be seen in the photo of The Edinburgh Gazette, they were listed bankrupt in 1830.
Overall length 15cm, barrel 4cm.
