The bordered lock stamped Tower and Crown and the barrel with 20 and proof marks.
With regulation brass furniture and coat hanger style lanyard ring.
The lack of a belt hook and the coat hanger lanyard would indicate that this is a Coastguard Pistol, rather than a Sea Service, although they are very similar.
The lock has a couple of rust marks and the woodwork is cracked beneath the lockplate. There is also a piece of the stock woodwork missing on one side next to the ramrod, which is why the fore end brass plate is also missing.
