1842 Pattern Sea Service Pistol Dated 1849
Beautiful condition Victorian Sea Service pistol Tower stamped and dated 1849.
The metalwork is unpitted and has an attractive gun metal grey patina.
The lock stamps are all clear, as is the abundance of Proof and Inspection stamps on the barrel. This example also has the War Office stamp on the right side of the grip.
Unusually for a Royal Navy pistol, this one has no belt hook, however, I have checked all the dimensions and the calibre (0.58) , and it is a match for the 1842 pattern sea service.
The mainspring is good and the action is very smooth in both half and full position.
A lovely clean example.
Barrel length 15cm, overall length 29.5cm.
This antique pistol is considered obsolete and non functioning, and is sold as a collectable item. This product is available for purchase in the UK without a license.
