19th Century .30 Calibre Rimfire Sharps 4 Shot Derringer
A beautiful American Civil War period pistol that fits nicely in the hand.
All metal parts have an even silver grey patina and the two piece wooden grip is in great condition.
Stamped on the right hand side "C Sharps Patent Jan25 1859", and along the top of the barrel cluster "Address Sharps and Hawkins Philadelphia, Penn".
There is a little pitting to the top left hand barrel and a tiny amount around the muzzle, but overall it is in lovely condition.
The action is crisp in half and full position and the intricate revolving hammer operates correctly.
The button on the left side unlocks the barrel cluster (after putting the hammer in half position), which then slides forward for loading.
Stamped with matching serial numbers on the base of the grip and and on the underside of the barrel cluster 11327.
The calibre shows this to be a Model 2.
A lovely pistol.
Barrel length 9cm, overall length 15.5cm
