Mid 19th Century Side Hammer Overcoat Pistol with Captive Ramrod
Featuring fine foliate engraving to the boxlock and trigger guard.
It has a browned octagonal barrel (foresight is missing) with Birmingham Proof Marks and a captive swivel ramrod, which is a replacement (swivel is a little tight).
The bag shaped one piece grip is finely hatched and has a vacant rectangular silver (white metal) escutcheon. One small section close to the hammer has been broken off and refixed.
The mainspring is fine, maybe not as strong as it once was upon release and the action holds well in half and full position.
Barrel length 10cm, overall length 23cm.
